Polymer Composites with Incorporated Mesoporous Bioactive Glass Nanoparticles as Enhanced Multifuctional Platforms for Biomedical Applications

Investigator: Susanta Sengupta (visiting PhD student from University of Trencin, FunGlass Centre)

Supervisors (in Erlangen): Dr. Liliana Liverani, Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini

Susanta Sengupta joined the Department of Biomaterials, FunGlass (Centre for Functional and Surface Functionalised Glass) as a PhD student in April 2018. FunGlass is an EU HORIZON 2020 funded project based at Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín (Slovakia). Susanta started his research training period under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Aldo R. Boccaccini at the Institute of Biomaterials (FAU) in September 2019. The FAU Institute of Biomaterials is one of the international advanced partners of FunGlass. Susanta's project is in the field of organic-inorganic composites incorporating mesoporoua bioactive glass particles [1-3].
